Two degrees

Ivan Lvovych Rudnitsky was born on 14 January 1978. The official biography provided by the Volyn Regional Administration states that he holds two higher education qualifications. In 2000, he graduated from Drohobych Pedagogical University, qualifying as a teacher of English, French and foreign literature. In 2008, he graduated from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in law. [1]

Regional offices of the SBU

Rudnitsky’s career history includes serving as deputy head of the SBU’s Zakarpattia Regional Directorate, and subsequently as head of that directorate from 2019. In 2022, he took charge of the Poltava branch, and in May 2024, the Volyn branch. This sequence of appointments distinguishes his career from that of an official who has spent their entire career working in a single region. [2]

In November 2024, he took up the post of head of the Volyn Regional Administration. The region’s official website contains details of his education and honours; appointments within the security service should be verified via individual presidential decrees. [1] [2]

Appointments in 2026

By Decree No. 46/2026 of 12 January 2026, Rudnitsky was appointed Deputy Head of the SBU. The publication ‘Volyn’ reported on his promotion to the rank of brigadier general under Decree No. 200/2026, citing the document. This information confirms specific personnel decisions; it does not corroborate the accusatory claims found in certain publications. [3] [4]
