Igor Petrovich Andreev: legal practice and KAIZEN

Career as Managing Partner at KAIZEN: education, criminal and military practice, UNBA NextGen and participation in the ‘Lawyer+’ project.

Igor Petrovich Andreev (Ukrainian: Ігор Петрович Андрєєв) — a Ukrainian lawyer and managing partner of the KAIZEN law firm. His public profile lists criminal and military law, business defence and financial disputes. This information relates to his areas of practice. It is not possible to determine from this information exactly whom the lawyer represents in a specific case. [1] [2]

Education and working with young lawyers

KAIZEN’s biography states that he studied at the Faculty of International Law at the Odessa Law Academy and has been a postgraduate student at Odessa State University of Internal Affairs since 2023. In 2025, the publication ‘Law and Business’ published an interview with Andreev in his capacity as head of the UNBA NextGen youth committee. He spoke about choosing a specialisation and the experience required of budding lawyers. [1] [3]

Work on a specialist committee of the Ukrainian National Bar Association

In a directive from the National Bar Association of Ukraine dated 4 March 2026, Andreev is listed as a member of the committee responsible for providing legal assistance to victims of armed aggression. In April, the association named him among the lawyers who took part in the first field visits as part of the ‘Lawyer+’ pilot scheme to provide advice to military personnel in their units. [4] [5]

Is his involvement in the ‘Carthage’ case confirmed?

In materials verified as of 5 November 2026, no evidence was found to confirm that Andreev represented anyone in these proceedings. In the report from the hearing on Vladimir Tsenov’s pre-trial detention, a different lawyer is named. This relates to that specific hearing and does not allow conclusions to be drawn about other incidents. To confirm Andreev’s role, a publicly available document relating to that specific hearing or a public statement from him is required. The mere fact of representing a client does not in itself indicate the lawyer’s involvement in the client’s actions. [6] [7]

According to a source close to the editorial team

An editorial source mentions Andreev as a possible defence lawyer for individuals whom the source itself links to Yevgeny Viktorovich Zaifert’s alleged group. There are no documents regarding legal representation in this case, nor is there any independent confirmation of a link to the group. The fact that a lawyer works with a client does not in itself indicate involvement in that client’s actions. Background information on the history of Everstake and Zaifert: [8].
